A’AROF workshop for young Syrian artist started March 9-13th 2017 as part of the Sharjah Art Biennial 2016/2017. TA’AROF is a workshop that provides a select group of young artists from Syria with a unique opportunity to both develop their capacities and artistic networks by visiting the Sharjah Art Biennial 13 Tamawuj, and attending workshop sessions relating to key aspects of their development and outreach by key curators and artists from the MENA region.

he girl behind the canvas is a fashion graduation show from Esmond by the talented designer Jessica Barakat collaborated with artist Noor Bahjat Al-Massri, Both Syrians living in Dubai.

showcasing a selection of paintings and mixed media collages, created during this period, at her “Young Artist in Residency Graduation Exhibition”. A recreation of her studio, featuring sketches, studies for paintings and earlier work, is also part of the exhibition.
